Sitting on the living room floor in a quiet cottage by Georgian Bay in Ontario, Canada, I was feeling raw and wounded from the emotional trauma I experienced that day, and I found solace in the simple act of coloring. As I sat there, colors and images before me, my mind, which often pursued any escape in the face of pain, found a lifeline in the deliberate act of coloring. This process helped me stay present and became a healthy channel for my hurt and confusion to transform into clarity and calm. My inner child has never felt more at peace. This experience, along with insights from my first book, Uncover Your Authentic Self Through Shadow Work, where I explored the synergy of art therapy and Shadow Work, played a crucial role in the birth of this Shadow Work journal and adult coloring book.
